First off I’d like to give a HUGE THANKS to everyone that was involved in the DodgeBall Tournament.  It was again a large success and everyone had a good time.  It worked really well in the new Gyms and we had a great group of volunteers helping things run smoothly!

Now back to the slopes.  Saturday the snowclub will be leaving at 8:00 to go to Caberfae for more than likely the last time of the year.  This is their Spring Carnival and there is always fun events going on.  If you have any questions contact Dave.  Possibly that Sunday and the following Sunday we may be going to Nubs Nob.

Overnight and Dodgeball Info

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Hey everyone, quick update on some things.

This year’s overnight trip will take place on March 7 & 8 at Crystal Mountain Resort.  The total cost is $75 with $40 being due as a deposit to Dave by February 5th and the balance due at the mandatory parent meeting on February 25th.  More information can be found here or contact Dave.

Our annual Dodgeball Tournament Fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday March 13th.  There will be lots of information coming soon but if you are interested in helping out or signing up a team to play please contact Dave Brandt at 989-506-1621 or dbsnowslider@gmail.com.

Also the sign-up form online for Sunday trips as been updated a little bit.  It now has information on if people are planning on riding the bus or driving separate.  That is for those adults that choose to drive on their own that way Dave will have a good idea of who is riding the bus.  We really need everyone who is 100% sure they are going to attend to try to sign-up.  This really gives us a good idea of what we can expect and if we need to plan extra transportation if we were to have a big week.

Thanks!

December 13th First Trip of the Season!

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you all know that SnowClub has started and we just took our first trip to Caberfae Peaks this last Sunday.  We had a great turnout of around 35 and the snow conditions were great.  Next weekend should be even better as both the North Quad chair should be working again and there is a good chance that South Peak will be open.

Remember we do have SnowClub merchandise available through Dave so if you need any last minute Christmas ideas let him know.

2009-2010 Season Update

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Hello everyone, Winter is coming quickly(hopefully).  Just wanted to give some updates on the Shepherd SnowClub and what our plans are for the year.

As soon as Caberfae opens we will start taking Sunday Trips.  This looks like it will probably be the first or second weekend of December depending on the weather.

Our DodgeBall fundraiser will be held in the spring this year because of the new gym construction taking place at Shepherd.  The DodgeBall Tournament is scheduled for March 13th, 2010.  We may have other fundraising opportunities before then so stay tuned for information about that.

Another thing we are offering this year is a special contest geared towards First Timers and bringing friends.  This will be a contest each week that any group of two people that include at least one person who is new to the SnowClub Trips will be entered into a drawing to each get a free lift ticket and free rental.  So if two friends that have never gone before decide to come they will be entered and so would one veteran who brings along a friend who has never gone before.  They will each then win a free lift ticket and rental if necessary on that day and will only need to pay the $5 transportation fee.

SnowClub also has lots of merchandise available that would make great Holiday Gifts.  We still have the new T-Shirts and Hooded Sweatshirts available.  Another thing that is offered is Shepherd SnowClub Gift Certificates.  These can be purchased and used for Sunday Trips, the Overnight Trip and apparel.  If anyone is interested in any of these items please contact Dave Brandt at 989-506-1621 or dbsnowslider@gmail.com.

The Overnight Trip this year is scheduled for March 7th and 8th.  The approximate price will again be $75.  More information will be coming soon concerning the overnight.

Then just a few reminders about the website from last year.

Don’t forget to check out videos and pictures with the various links around the website.

Advance SignUp for trips is still available and encouraged.  If you know you are going to be attending a Sunday Trip please fill out the SignUp on the website so that we have some kind of idea of the number of people attending.  If you are unsure if you are coming or decide to come at the last minute, great we’ll see you on Sundays, SignUp is not necessary.
